Terms & Conditions

By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before enrolling in any course or creating an account.

1. Eligibility & Account Registration

• You must be at least 13 years of age to register on BLI. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to keep your account information up to date.
• You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your username and password. Any activity conducted through your account is your responsibility.
• You may not register more than one account or share your account credentials with others.

2. Use of the Platform

• BLI grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the platform for personal educational purposes.
• You may not use the platform for any unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or commercially exploitative purpose.
• You must not attempt to copy, reproduce, distribute, record, screenshot, or screen-record any course content, videos, materials, or assessments without prior written permission from BLI.
• You must not engage in any behaviour that disrupts the platform's functionality, other learners' experience, or the integrity of assessments.
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, hack, or circumvent platform security is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

3. Course Enrolment & Access

• Course access begins immediately upon successful payment unless otherwise stated on the course page.
• Course access is granted for the duration specified at the time of purchase (e.g., lifetime access, 6 months, 1 year). This will be clearly indicated before enrolment.
• BLI reserves the right to update, modify, or retire course content at any time. We aim to notify enrolled learners in advance of significant changes.
• BLI does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform and may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance without prior notice.

4. Payments & Pricing

• All course fees and subscription charges are displayed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) unless otherwise specified.
• Prices are subject to change at any time. Any promotions or discounts are time-limited and subject to their own terms.
• By making a payment, you authorise BLI and its payment processor to charge the total amount to your chosen payment method.
• Payments are processed securely via our authorised payment gateway (PayHere). BLI does not store your full card details.
• All applicable taxes are the responsibility of the learner based on their jurisdiction.

5. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms a part of these Terms and Conditions. Please refer to the Refund Policy page for full details on eligibility, process, and timelines.

6. Academic Integrity

• Any form of cheating, impersonation, or plagiarism during assessments will result in immediate suspension of your account and forfeiture of any certifications earned.
• You must not share quiz or exam questions, answers, or content externally.
• Certificates issued by BLI reflect genuine achievement. Misuse or falsification of certificates is a breach of these terms.

7. Intellectual Property

• All content on the BLI platform — including video lectures, study materials, question banks, graphics, branding, and platform design — is the intellectual property of BioLoom Institute or its respective content creators and is protected under applicable copyright laws.
• You are granted access solely for personal, non-commercial learning purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, or create derivative works from any platform content.
• User-generated content (e.g., forum posts, comments) remains your property, but by posting it you grant BLI a non-exclusive licence to use it for platform purposes.

8. Third-Party Links & Services

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. BLI is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

9. Limitation of Liability

• BLI provides its platform and content on an "as is" basis and makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of course content for any specific purpose.
• BLI shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform.
• BLI's maximum aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific course or service giving rise to the claim.

10. Termination & Suspension

• BLI reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you are found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
• Upon termination, your access to all enrolled courses and platform content will cease. Refunds upon termination due to policy violation will not be issued.
• You may close your account at any time by contacting support@bioloom.edu.lk.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

12. Amendments

BLI reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
